hi,
my edirol r-09 (like many others) records glitches when changing the
input level during recording. although adjusting the level during
recording is usually a bad idea and best avoided, it is terrible that
some of the r-09s do this regardless... sometimes you have to make on
the fly changes.
a click is recorded for every step of level changes. the level of the
clicks is related to the DC offset of the chip. some people's don't do
this, some do a little, others are pretty bad.
roland claim that it is not a fault. apparently, when they decided on
the specifications that the chips should adhere to, DC offset was not
a factor they considered needed testing on the chips. therefore it
isn't an error!
i was extremely dissapointed that my r-09 did this, however i am
extremely happy with everything other aspect of the r-09.
