I didn't tape in DC but have some info for the folks who I hope will be taping
the next four shows (and posting to DaD or TTD!!!).
1) it is over 3 hours so be prepared
2) when they say they are taking an intermission to prepare for Buddy Guy, the
intermission was like 3 minutes!!!
show starts out a bit uneven but DC was first show of tour and they obviously
had little rehearsals (Kreiger & Taylor totally fell apart on Watchtower),
sound men were doing pretty horrible until buddy guy's portion (mics not
working, bass booming, etc)
buddy guy stole the show (but oddly didn't do hendrix songs),
guy/sumlin, guy/taylor, guy/randolph duets were stunning.
sheperd (and his singer) were quite impressive (i wasn't as impresssed
when I had to sit thru 1.5 hours of them before Dickey Betts came on
last February though, but doing hendrix stuff they really shined).
voodoo child with sheperd/randolph was totally smokin'
too bad guy didn't sing red house, billy cox vocals weren't that great,
his bass playing was ok at least - he was disappointed when they
had him come off stage he wanted to play more.
doyle bramall was pretty good too
kreiger had some good leads but was a bit hard to hear, played one
good slide solo too. taylor was a little off but hit stride with duet with
guy and a few other riffs (not quite as much slide as i was hoping for
from him)
mitchell did a decent job on drums
double trouble was tight
guy's keyboardist has really gotten good
long live jimi's music!!!!

Why worry, there should be laughter after the pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now

Does anyone know of a good service center in the metro Detroit area?
I have a Panasonic 3700 DAT machine.
Thanks,
Andrew
