What is the taper > standard/workhorse dat machine for transferring? > Thanks all. > I recommend the Sony R-500. It has the best error correction I have encountered, and is a fine machine all-round. I picked one up on ebay last November for under $300. There are currently 5 units currently listed there. I have also had great success using the Sony SDT-1000 DDS drive, although it's a big pain to get it configured on the computer... It won't work with tapes that don't have ABS, however. -Matt
