Problem with a Sony D8 (jpff)
From: jpff <jpff@codemist.co.uk> Subject: Problem with a Sony D8 Date: Sat, 22 Mar 2008 13:30:26 +0000 I have had a Sony D8 since 2000 and it has never given any troubles, until this month. I took the DAT to the Linux Audio Conference and recorded a number of sounds, and that was OK. When i returned and plugged the DAT into the power supply (I was using batteries away) the display pulses rather than being constant, and there is a similar pulsing quiet whirring sound. It will not unload or anything. I did unload my sounds to the computer with batteries and it ran OK until they ran down. I have tested the power wall-wart and it is delivering 6v as specified. What else could be wrong? What can I do about it? The DAT has only had light use, but it is part of my world. ==John ffitch
