liquidating tape collections??? ("ryson2")
From: "ryson2" <ryson2@sbcglobal.net> Subject: liquidating tape collections??? Date: Mon, 7 Jul 2008 20:12:25 -0500 I have a couple of hundred DAT tapes collecting dust in my closet, of course they have live music on them. Thru the years I have seen folks "liquidating" collections on this list and elsewhere for the price of the tape. I know I would have never used a prerecord tape to record on, so it comes down to whats on the tape no matter what type of light you shine on it. The idea of getting rid of them to finance another audio project is appealing to me but I also feel real slippery putting them up on the block with the music on the tapes. Is this still done? what is a proper price per tape? is there any practical use for these DAT's these days?? Although I stored them properly, after 10+ years, they have to have been degraded right? Thanks, Ry
