Alfredo's dats (Jeffrey Chard) Re: Project help from Others / Nels Cline posted (Gary Davis)
From: Jeffrey Chard <jachard@adelphia.net> Subject: Alfredo's dats Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2009 09:36:51 -0500 Hey Alfredo. It's been a while.....a few years in fact. Hope you're well other than your Neil Sturtevant problem. You've done so much dat trading in the past--it may not be all that difficult to at least replace those dats. Maybe I have some of them from the many trades we did back in the day, maybe you got some of them from me. Send me a list, or better yet, post the list to Datheads so everyone can see it. You've done a lot of trading over the years, so your masters are definitely out there, and I bet a lot of them have already been converted to cds or flacs. That's one of the nice things about trading--it keeps lots of backup copies out there. Come on, datheads--let's see if we can put Alfredo's collection back together. Regards,, Jeff Chard in the USA
From: Gary Davis <gdavisloop@earthlink.net> Subject: Re: Project help from Others / Nels Cline posted Reply-To: Gary Davis <gdavisloop@earthlink.net> Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2009 13:23:10 -0800 (GMT-08:00) Unfortunately, your experience is not limited to this one individual. I would say, in general, whenever someone on the 'net has agreed to help me with a project, it has never worked out. There have been years of delays, usually a hospital excuse, and in one case when I finally got the work back, so many years had passed I was no longer interested in the project. Do it yourself or expect it done wrong. ---- On a happier note, I've posted Nels Cline's 24-minute improv, "I heard it was a Holiday," to archive.org in honor of Martin Luther King day. This 1997 recording is from the early days of my "Super Seven Stereo Soundboard" recording technique and is both musically and sonically excellent. To find it, just go to www.archive.org, search for "Nels Cline," and change the sort to "Date Added." --Gary
