Are you sure it was '80 and not '79? He played the closing night at the
state fair in '79 (8-26-79). I don't remember a show in '80 but of course
I may have just missed it for some reason. The '79 show was delayed by
rain; the Geezinslaws and... Tompall Glaser maybe? were supposed to open,
but the rain kept them off the stage. I remember Willie bringing the
Geezinslaws out for a song or two during the show. That sound like the
show you saw?

If a tape exists of the '79 (or '80) Des Moines show, I'd sure love to
hear it. I went with my fiance, got a Willie's (first?) picnic t-shirt,
and generally had a great time. The fiance and I divorced years ago, the
shirt's in the rag bag, and admittedly the memory's fading, so some audio
would be welcome...

Thanks to people who wrote me after posting my (sad) rant and to people who 
offered me to help for those masters gone lost.
I want just underline a fact: i 
don't care for my lost tapes (as one guy said, in this digital world i can find 
them on some torrents/ftp site), just for the fact to beleive in some person 
and hear lame excuses
The last one was from Charlie Miller who wrote that N.S. 
said him he had crashed PC and lost all emails.
I wrote to NS in october, in 
november and last one was in december, and he never replied me. 
May he had 
crashed pc for all three months? may he had no possibility to check his post 
from another  pc? May he couldn't wrote to datheads asking for my email or just 
check the old messages who replied me checking the digest post on datheads 
page?
So it's another poor excuses from Neil and i don't believe it anymore.
In 
the past  this  guy had a good reputation and he was reliable. 
Surely not now
