>From my experience, the "Repair" mode on a CD recorder reads through the
entire disc at 1x speed. Therefore, it may appear to be frozen, but in fact it's
just doing an 80-minute+ job. If you leave it alone, it might repair your disc.
However, if it's too late for that, it's very easy to read the audio data from a
CDR with software like Nero or CDRWIN. Okay, "very easy" may not be the
word, but it can be done.
With CDRWIN, simply specify a read-by-sector number and start with sector
0 or 1, go to a high number (like 199999). The first time through, the read
will "crash" at the first unwritten sector, but it will tell you the sector number
where it crashed. Then read from 1 to (crash sector)-1. If it still crashes, try
a slightly shorter range like 1 to (crash sector)-100.
With Nero, go to Disc Extras and try Read Tracks.
Sorry, I don't know anything about CD software for Macs!
