Data Stream Dissector (DSD) Kit Parts List last revised 8/8/94 for v0.7 Notes ( in the Parts List refers to the following notes) ---------------------------------------------------------------- <1> When a quantity is shown in parentheses, that is the actual quantity supplied in the kit. <2> Resistor color codes: If there is a silver or gold band at one end of the resistor, read off the color codes from the other end and ignore the silver or gold band. <3> The terms "axial" or "radial" refer to the lead style on the capacitor. <4> Quoted numbers are markings found on the part. <5> Resistors supplied with the kit have a Brown body color. Inductors supplied with the kit have a Green body color. The one exception is R17 which is a resistor with a Green body color. <6> Manufacturer: Crystal Semiconductor. <7> Manufacturer: Unitrode. <8> Manufacturer: Pulse Engineering. <9> Manufacturer: Toshiba. <10> The PAL may be a National Semiconductor electrically erasable "GAL" device. Other substitutions are also acceptable. The kit is supplied with a pre-programmed part. <11> A 47uH inductor is an acceptable substitution. <12> A 2N3907 transistor is an acceptable substitution. <13> TIP32 or TIP32A or TIP32B are all acceptable substitutions. <14> A 250uF capacitor is an acceptable substitution. <15> "uF" and "uH" stand for microfarad and microhenry, respectively. <16> T6 is not supplied in the kit. It is optional. <17> Material used for non-electrolytic capacitors should be non-critical, i.e. tantalum, metal film, polyester, polypropylene or ceramic should all be OK. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Data Stream Dissector (DSD) Kit Parts List (page 2 of 2) Capacitors (16V minimum, except where noted) <3> <4> <15> <17> ---------------------------------------------------------------- C1-C6 6 (7) 0.01uF Ceramic (axial "103") C7 1 10uF Electrolytic C8-C13 6 0.1uF Ceramic (axial "104") C14 1 0.047uF Polyester or Polypropylene (radial "473") C15 1 220uF 25V Electrolytic <14> C16 1 0.033uF Polyester or Ceramic (radial "333") Inductors (50mA minimum) <5> <15> ---------------------------------------------------------------- L1 1 56uH <11> (green blue black silver -- curved sides) L2 1 5.1uH (green brown gold silver -- straight cylinder) Transistors ---------------------------------------------------------------- Q1 1 2N3906 <12> (TO-92 package) Q2 1 TIP32C <13> (TO-220 package) Resistors (1/4 watt, 5% carbon or carbon film) <5> <1> ---------------------------------------------------------------- R1-R3 3 (4) 75 ohms (violet green black) R5-R16 12 5.1K ohms (green brown red) R17 1 8.2K ohms (grey red red) R18 1 560 ohms (green blue brown) R19-R22 3 (4) 360 ohms (orange blue brown) R23 1 330 ohms (orange orange brown) R24-R26 3 1K ohms (brown black red) R27-R30 3 (4) 91 ohms (white brown black) Miscellaneous ---------------------------------------------------------------- D1-D2 2 Red T 1 3/4 Round LED D3 1 Yellow T 1 3/4 Round LED D4 1 Green T 1 3/4 Round LED P1 1 Octal (4x2) phono/RCA female panel-mount jack O1 1 TORX176 Fiber Optic Receiver <9> O2 1 TOTX176 Fiber Optic Transmitter <9> T1-T6 5 PE65612 Pulse Transformer <8> <16> J1-J8 8 Jumpers (not supplied - use wire) Integrated Circuits ---------------------------------------------------------------- U1 1 CS8412CP <6> U2 1 CS8402CP <6> U3 1 PAL22V10 CMOS pre-programmed with DSD v0.6 program <10> U4 1 MC3486N U5 1 MC3487N U6 1 SN74HCT74N U7 1 UC3835N <7> U8 1 10 Position SPST DIP Switch DSD Mega Expansion Kit Parts List last revised 8/8/94 for v0.7 Notes ( in the Parts List refers to the following notes) ---------------------------------------------------------------- <2> Resistor color codes: If there is a silver or gold band at one end of the resistor, read off the color codes from the other end and ignore the silver or gold band. <3> The terms "axial" or "radial" refer to the lead style on the capacitor. <4> Quoted numbers are markings found on the part. <8> Manufacturer: Pulse Engineering. <9> Manufacturer: Toshiba. <11> A 47uH inductor is an acceptable substitution. <15> "uF" and "uH" stand for microfarad and microhenry, respectively. <17> Material used for non-electrolytic capacitors should be non-critical, i.e. tantalum, metal film, polyester, polypropylene or ceramic should all be OK. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Capacitors (16V minimum, except where noted) <3> <4> <15> <17> ---------------------------------------------------------------- C1-C6 1 0.01uF Ceramic (axial "103") C8-C13 1 0.1uF Ceramic (axial "104") Inductors (50mA minimum) <15> ---------------------------------------------------------------- L1 1 56uH <11> (green blue black silver -- curved sides) Resistors (1/4 watt, 5% carbon or carbon film) ---------------------------------------------------------------- R1-R3 1 75 ohms (violet green black) R17 1 8.2K ohms (grey red red) R19-R22 1 360 ohms (orange blue brown) R27-R30 1 91 ohms (white brown black) Miscellaneous ---------------------------------------------------------------- O1 1 TORX176 Fiber Optic Receiver <9> O2 1 TOTX176 Fiber Optic Transmitter <9> T1-T6 2 PE65612 Pulse Transformer <8>
