The AMA has gone through a lot of changes,
here is the current status.

The revitalization of the American Mead Association (AMA)
is continuing with the recent appointment of a slate of
officers. As of March 10, 1997, John (Julian) Strekal  is
no longer responsible for operation of the AMA in any capacity.
He has expressed a desire to remain affiliated with the AMA as
Principal Mead Visionary, and may submit articles for occasional
publication in the newsletter.

Currently, the following are helping to direct the organization.  

President: Andrew LaMorte, aka The Beer Guy;
Vice President: Sarah Wanless;
Secretary: John Bates; and 
Treasurer: Paul Gatza.
